I once considered not going through ordination. When I was thinking about that, my logic was that I intended to serve in youth ministry for the rest of my life.
But recently, I think God is preparing me to expand my horizons. I’m glad that I did not forgo the candidacy process.
Don’t get me wrong, I love what I’m doing. I love working with young people and it’s so amazing seeing kids give their lives fully to Christ. I also want to see what it’s like to work with adults or be a senior pastor of a congregation.
I do, however, see myself going back to youth ministry in the latter years of my life. I think I’ll always have a passion for youth. And if I do become a senior pastor, I’ll definitely make sure that our church will have a strong youth ministry and support the youth pastor 100%.
Of course, it’s really up to God.
I’m excited about what my future will hold.
I can’t wait until this whole ordination process will be over.
