Copying what ysmarko does for Monday morning posts.
the weekend that was: I got to lead praise for the first time in months. It was really a holy time. My body has been tired since. Sunday was Laity Sunday, the senior pastor and I served as Ushers. It was a welcome break from the usual Sunday. And I thoroughly enjoyed all of our laity speakers. We had three of them. They all talked about prayer. The theme was prayer. It was a good Sunday.
where i am at the moment: sitting in front of my office. Looking at the beautiful weather outside and hearing the kids play at the preschool right next to us. I wanna be 5 again.
on my to-do list this week: I have to go to RIM (Residence in Ministry) a requirement for the ordination process. I am not looking forward to it. This Saturday, though, is our first ever praise night at my church. We’re calling the event OBOC (One Body of Christ) and have invited other churches to come and celebrate the Lord with us. Some of you may say, how come your holding this type of event and inviting other Christians? Well, my reasoning for this is that my kids at Mesa Verde, haven’t really experienced worship with people their age. And this would be a great opportunity for the youth to see that they’re not alone in being Christians..
procrastinating about:emailing people. and preparing sermons for the upcoming new alternative service…
book i’m in the midst of: Rob Bell’s: Jesus Wants to Save Christians
media that seemed to catch my attention this past week: jumped on the Battlestar Galatica bandwagon. The show is awesome! Waiting for season 2 to arrive through netflix. (wife does not share my joy of Battlestar Galatica.) Also been watching the Clone Wars on Cartoon Network. (Wife also does not understand why I am watching the Cartoon Network at my age). Listened to the album I received at National Youth Workers Convention, Above the Golden State. I have mixed feelings. I like them, but not really.
how i’m feeling about this week: Nervous and anxious. But excited. And thankful. (all these emotions are regarding this Saturday night…)
