Monday Post

the weekend that was:Busy, busy weekend. We had our OBOC (One Body of Christ) Praise night. It went well. But it opened my eyes to something I need to do with my youth group. Hopefully, I’ll remember to blog about this some time this week. Our Halloween party was yesterday, and it was fun. Creative costumes. Kids were adorable! I was part of the games. I was a target where people could throw wet sponges at my face. It was fun! We also attended our senior pastor’s 5 week bible study on prayer. It was good, and I enjoyed it. I’m also learning more about my pastor and his theology.

where i am at the moment: I’m at my office, as usual for Mondays. I still feel exhausted from the weekend. My body is telling me that I need to start exercising again. I really do.

on my to-do list this week: This coming Sunday is the kick off to our alternative service. I have to make sure everything is ready to go, especially the sermons.

procrastinating about: sermon prep. I have to finish this Sunday’s sermon by Thursday, because we are going to my parents on Halloween (to avoid the halloween crowd here in OC) and on Saturday, the wife and I are going to the Jason Mraz concert! (so excited!)

book i’m in the midst of: reading Jesus in the Margins by Rick McKinley. I first thought this book would be about people in society’s margin, but not really. He’s just talking about people who don’t fit into the church because of past experiences (mostly his). I don’t know if I like the book yet. Hopefully, I’ll have enough resolve to finish reading it. I have a tendency to stop reading a book altogether if I can’t get anything out of it (like entertainment, or new information, etc)

media that seemed to catch my attention this past week: I love TV. I love Pushing Daisies, CSI, The Office, House and I can’t wait til Lost begins again. Has anyone seen a good movie lately?

how i’m feeling about this week: I am very hopeful for our alternative service.
