the weekend that was: It was a great weekend, up until Sunday evening. Got to hang out with my parents for my birthday. I’m 28 now. Our first Saturday evening service was great. I also had to preach on Sunday. So it was a weekend filled with preaching. And then, it was the big Skins vs Cowboys game. A game that we could’ve and should’ve won. But fell short. So annoyed. So annoyed!
where i am at the moment: I have a meeting with one of the pastors from Rock Harbor. I’m going there to ask them how they do ministry and sort of learn from a non-UM church on how to reach younger people.
on my to-do list this week: lot of meeting new people this week. This is a HUGE deal for me. Hopefully, I won’t get over-stimulated and crash. I prefer being at home with just my wife 9 out of .. well 9 times.
procrastinating about: everything and nothing all at once.
book i’m in the midst of: still reading Jesus in the Margins by Rick McKinley. Also started re-reading Your First Two Years in Youth Ministry by Doug Fields. this may be a sign for me to just slow down a bit and finish these books.
media that seemed to catch my attention this past week: Saturday Night Live! Yea. 4 or 5 sketches had me laughing out loud. SNL never does that. It was one of the better ones, particularly the Beyonce and Justin Timberlake sketch.
how i’m feeling about this week: I’m meeting a lot of new people this week. I can’t help but feel anxious.
