It’s rather embarrassing how much stress and anger a simple little gadget can cause.
For some reason, my iPod has decided that the left ear channel was too much of an hassle to have it work all the time. So now, I get sound only out of the right earphones. (It’s not the earphones.)
Oh. But if I move it around, jiggle it, hold it in a certain way, add a bit of pressure on it, it works fine.
But as soon as my hand is removed from the earphone jack, the left side stops working.
It’s maddening.
It would give me immense pleasure chucking that thing against the wall and watch it shatter into thousands of pieces.
At the same time, I have a silly attachment to that darned thing.
I googled to see if anyone else had this problem. And, I’m not the only one. Except, I don’t know if that makes me feel any better.
So, what’s my next step?
I don’t know if I want to shell out another 150 bucks or more for a new iPod.
At the same time, I like having a portable mp3 player.
Sure, my iPad can serve as some form of music player. But I can’t take my iPad with me on walks or work outs or whatever.
I can ask to see if anyone has a functioning iPod lying around that they’re willing to donate. (Does anyone?)
I’m a bit embarrassed to be complaining about this, especially given all the things going on in the world.
Perhaps, it was an easier time when I would just make mix tapes and escape to a world of music and sounds on my Sony Walkman…
