Spencer Toyama, the writer, is a good friend of mine. We go way back. One of my first friends that I made in Hawaii. Always full of ideas and aspirations — though at the time, we thought he was just weird. 🙂

I still think he’s a little weird (to be fair, all of my friends are weird. I’m the only normal one…) but, I really believe that he’s onto something now. He has a compelling story to tell with an intriguing lead character.
On top that, he is raising awareness for human trafficking in the United States, which is an issue that needs to be discussed more in our country. Because, whether you want to believe it or not, it is a serious and tragic problem in our country.
