If you have to start off a sentence with, “I’m not racist, but…” Or, “I’m not homophobic, but…” Or, “I’m not crazy, but…” Or, “I’m not a jerk, but…”
You are, mostly likely going to be, what you just said you’re not.
There was a horrible and indefensible crime committed when 2 teenagers beat an 89 year old WWII veteran to death.
The 2 teenagers happened to be black.
And on someone’s Facebook page, someone said (whether they were quoting someone or it was an original thought):
“Not being racist or anything, but Trayvon Martin was likelier to have been one of those kids who killed Delbert Belton than to have been an innocent victim like him. Delbert Belton was simply waiting in the parking lot of his Lodge when he was beaten to death. The suspects? Surprise! Two of Obama’s cherished Trayvon-like thug ‘sons.'”
I mean, seriously?
I don’t even know where to begin to unpack that “not racist” comment…
