Hey Friends,
Mosaic Church is taking a miracle offering during our Christmas Eve liturgy.
Basically, 100% of the offering received will go to a local nonprofit.
This was such a big part of my ministerial life in the churches I’ve worked at until I moved to Texas, where the suggestion was denied every time I brought it up.
But the opportunity arose where we can do this again, and so here we are.
This Christmas, we’re partnering with the Promise Rose, a local nonprofit that works with youth.
They work with kids who are dealing with trauma — particularly from being part of the foster system.
And they work on physical and emotional healing.
Here is there mission and vision statement:
PROMISE ROSE IS DEDICATED TO HELPING CHILDREN FIND THEIR PATH TO GROWTH AND INDEPENDENCE. AT PROMISE ROSE, OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE SHELTER, SAFETY AND SUPPORT TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IMPACTED BY CHILDHOOD TRAUMA.
OUR VISION:
CREATE A COMMUNITY THAT CARES.
But, this isn’t just a one time thing that we’re doing with Promise Rose.
In February, we’ll be hosting a Valentine’s Day party with the residents and are looking for more opportunities to be a small, yet loving, part of their journey.
There are two ways to give, if you are so moved to.
I’ve set up a GoFundMe page for them. (https://gofund.me/f2efe534)
OR, you can give via our giving page and next year, a check will be cut and delivered.
You can go to https://pushpay.com/g/pumpkinchurch and select Mosaic Episcopal Church from the drop-down menu and then typing MIRACLE OFFERING in the memo section.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for participating.
Your generosity and sacrificial giving continues to propel us forward to live out God’s vision for our community.
Merry Christmas!
