I mean, really. What a great movie. Still holds up for me as an adult.
Btw, do you say uh-dult or Aah-dult? Is that a regional difference…?

Anyway, June is a month of celebration in our household.

It’s our anniversary month.
It’s the month that my wife was ordained as a deacon in the UMC.
I was also ordained as an elder in the UMC in June…
And we end the month with the celebration of Nathanael.

On this day, in 2016, we became a forever family.
That was a Friday.
We drove to Oxnard. Signed the papers. Took pictures. Celebrated.
And on Monday, got on a plane and moved to Houston.
Talk about cutting it close…

We dubbed this day as Nathanael’s Day and, since he doesn’t have school, he gets to do whatever he wants .

How does he want to spend his day today?

Well.
We’ll be doing the usual train spotting while I get some coffee at Pearland Coffee Roasters.
Then… (Lord have mercy on my soul) he really wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese’s. And… well, we’ll be at Chuck E’s. I’m writing this on a Friday. I… can’t say I’m looking forward to seeing Charles Entertainment Cheese (his full government name). But, it is a place where a kid can be a kid… and Nathanael’s still a kid — albeit a child-man.

And then, we’ll go to a restaurant of his choice — and he hasn’t nailed one down yet. He did mention Pei Wei… but we’ll see how he feels on the day of.

It’ll be a fun, joyous day. And this kid truly deserves the best that there is.

I can’t believe how fast time flies.
I can’t tell you how much he makes me laugh.
We’re just all super proud of him.

Our lives has never been the same since we first met you at the end of February in 2014.
Our lives has been filled with more laughter; with more joy; with more wonder; with more parental and existential angst, if I’m being honest… but that’s more of a reflection of me than you; our lives have been more richer.
